The recent Live Earth concerts across the world are a testimony to the ever-growing desire for a better environment. But to date, Sting, Madonna and virtually all artists on those concerts had never addressed the environment in their music and certainly many did and still do ride in SUVs and limos. If we’re really serious about making a difference in the planet, do we continue to patronize corporate events like Live Earth, that are simply placing the Environmental topic into their corporate formula. Did they use solar power for the stages?, did the vendors sell products in bio-degradable containers?, was the waste composted? Were the chosen artists people who had previously included their concern for the environment in their work? ---- or do we support the smaller, grass-roots efforts going on in every-day-America that are really focused upon making a difference with stated, specific goals that are designed to do something positive for the environment. What say you?
