A concert by
The Junkman crosses all the traditional boundaries in music -- rock, dance, jazz, classical, world-fusion and more -- in an array of unique musical styes and grooves guaranteed to rock your socks off! From a stage filled with three large metal racks holding over 1000 recycled materials -- from auto parts to kitchen utensils to snowboards to tools to tin cans to scrap wood & metal to highway signs and much more --
The Junkman performs selections from his first CD,
Junk Music, which was nominated for a Grammy. He also performs the selections
Abracadabra and
Built to Fall Apart from the CD
Junk Music 2 which were used as the music beds for an ESPN commercial and the NBA Playoffs respectively.
He also presents some of his latest music and includes the favorites Rock Music -- made by banging rocks together, and Body Music, which he performs on almost all parts of his body. He also take time with the audience to conduct a reality show entitled,
Junk Drummer Supreme in which from four to six audience members come onto the stage and have a rhythmic battle with
The Junkman. The audience decides the winner, who wins a
Junk Music t-shirt.
The concert ends with a
Junkjam, in which a number of audience members come up to the front of the stage, grab a provided stick and piece of junk and jam with
The Junkman while other audience members chant environmental slogans to the rhythm.
Junkjams are huge fun and typically engage the entire audience! See the
Junkjam section on this website to view the fun first-hand!
